june walk

living in a large 

city

it is balm

for the 

urban soul

to escape

briefly

into an oasis

of green

and quiet,

almost

quiet

minus the 

sound of

battling 

squirrels.

chasing butterflies

this attractive
butterfly visited my
tiny dark garden
today,
i ran inside
for my camera,
he was still there
when i returned.
it is a giant swallowtail
minus the tails, a bit
worse for wear
but a stunner
nevertheless.
