back lanes tell

a different story.

green and red

the flower shops are displaying all sorts of greenery,

garlands, wreaths, red and white flowers,

pine cones and coloured branches. is there anything

left in the forest? i have been gathering ideas for some

holiday arrangements. it is too soon for me,

december is days away, and i am enjoying the

mild november weather.

live well

living well in november,

we went out for lunch at a newish tiny café,

only pizza and sandwiches on the menu.

the proprietors have a sense of humour.

music, whirling fans, warm colours and limited seating.

i had a satisfying hot vegetable sandwich,

followed by a neighbourhood walk.

when i was out to buy

art supplies.

they have started

making ice

at the rink.

simple

when feeling rather delicate,

a simple yet perfect egg is the cure.

food is definitely a theme this week,

exercise should be the next activity.

when it is dark and everything is shrouded in a

dense mist,

i like to have a colourful dinner

the recipes are from the november issue of gourmet,

vegetarian squash and red pepper pilaf,

spanish white beans with spinach.

it tasted warm and sunny.
