this is what
i like best
about autumn,

of all

squashes.
i tend to
buy too

past

mixed bean salad

I was given a copy of the
Jerusalem
cookbook
and have been trying
many of the dishes.
the
one i have made
most
often this summer
is the
mixed bean salad.
my favourite.
a wonderful combination
of colours and flavours.

soap

it is the packaging that
attracted me,
the soap looks
and smells good.
one feels
clean even
before
using it.

end of summer

the garden angel
looks resigned,
the hosta fatigued
and eaten,
cooler breezes
waft in,
a weaker
sun creates
longer shadows,
my tiny dark
garden is
wilting into
autumn.

fika

fika 
a newish
cafe in
kensington market.
they have
cool drinks
tasty
swedish style
sandwiches.
a good
respite from
summer's
heat.
