                                          has left us.

                                          she was fourteen years old.

flash.
august hovers,
heavy morning
air
now
ripe
with end
of summer
scents.
a wander
and lunch
by the
lake.
a stolen
moment
to forget
the bustling
city.

it is april
and this

i see

snowy

the geraniums
i brought
inside
survived
winter,
i, just barely,
spring will be
here

days,

mixed bean salad

I was given a copy of the
Jerusalem
cookbook
and have been trying
many of the dishes.
the
one i have made
most
often this summer
is the
mixed bean salad.
my favourite.
a wonderful combination
of colours and flavours.
there are many more

you can see

soap

it is the packaging that
attracted me,
the soap looks
and smells good.
one feels
clean even
before
using it.

end of summer

the garden angel
looks resigned,
the hosta fatigued
and eaten,
cooler breezes
waft in,
a weaker
sun creates
longer shadows,
my tiny dark
garden is
wilting into
autumn.

they have
cool drinks
tasty
swedish style
sandwiches.
a good
respite from
summer's
heat.

an easter tart

needing a meatless
dish for easter,
i tested tarta pascualina
a swiss chard and ricotta
tart recipe from argentina.
it can be made with spinach
or swiss chard,
i prefer chard,
here are three recipes
if you wish to make
this delicious

earth hour report

the hydro authority reported
the city cut energy consumption by
205 megawatts during earth hour,
an increase from last year's
reduction of 197 megawatts.
good news. sadly,  my neighbours
were not participating.
