swans at the pond

this morning we visited the swans.

085 kept an eye on us.

laundry day

i am always pleased to see anything that was

or is manufactured in canada. the blue on the

washing machines is interesting.

more cake!

more cake! inspired by the cool wet weather i

baked this apple and blackberry cake. it was truly

delicious and disappeared quickly. a wonderful

autumnal treat. the recipe is from the current

september issue of martha stewart living magazine.

morning walk

everything seemed different this morning

lunch again!

lunch at a more traditional café. melted cheese

croissant sandwiches, rum ball (with little almond

horns), a berry tart, a very large coffee cup with yet

another sweet on the saucer. fun and filling!

ponderable

it has been at least a month from the last pond

post. the pond has a melancholy

atmosphere in an end of summer way. the

condominium continues to rise.

breakfast

the family festivities continued with waffles for

breakfast. miss m was not in a festive mood,

her morning exercise was delayed, and the

quantity of treats landing in her bowl disappointing.

what i find most endearing about family events

are the homemade cakes. this is my mother's

walnut cake. delicious.

a pleasant café, i had my usual americano

we went for a walk to see what we could see

and stopped in at a favourite café,

for lunch i chose the avocado sandwich, my companion

the cheddar chutney. very good (better than chips).

we read the paper and enjoyed the view,

a pleasant sunny afternoon.

an eye for colour

sunday dinner

it is always a challenge to decide what to have for dinner.

tonight's choice was a homemade pizza with grape tomatoes

and black olives, purple basil, rosemary and parsley.

it was delicious and the aroma delightful. now what to

do with that giant cauliflower?
